On a formerly built concrete platform as part of an abandoned construction, the owner wanted to build a new vacation home with few bedrooms and generous common areas. The main piece of the composition is an oversized fireplace, and the rest of the spaces are distributed around it. Next to the fireplace a small court assembles around it the major areas of the house. The same time this court brings natural light to all ground floor areas. Protected by massive wooden shutters the voids in the walls are arranged to allow the light and the eye to pass through the interior space of the house and get spectacular glances of the Danube’s Delta landscape.
Natural construction materials (brick masonry, stone, wood, reed roof) were used in order to preserve the Danube’s Delta natural protected area’s character.
